KARTONCITY – A UNIQUE CARDBOARD CITY IN BOCHNIA

On the 22 June we celebrated our 45th anniversary in Wielkopolska and 10th anniversary in Małopolska. On this occasion, we prepared a special birthday party for the employees and their families that took place in Kuter Port in Nieznanowice.

Instead of the traditional picnic, we built the KartonCity, a unique city built of cardboard. The company engineers designed and created benches, lamp posts, gates and other elements that filled this unconventional city. In KartonCity there was a market square, amphitheatre, community centre and streets decorated with trees. Every district had its own character, and the attractions were adapted to various age groups, from children to adults.

One of the priorities of our company is ecological responsibility.
We strived to minimise the use of plastic and chose environmentally-friendly materials. The selective waste collection was mandatory, and all waste was subject to recycling. The cardboard elements of the staging returned to the company where they were turned into waste paper. Live trees that decorated the KartonCity were planted in the gmina district to create a beautiful alley for the residents.

The whole event was hosted by well-known presenters, Krzysztof Ibisz and Paulina Sykut-Jeżyna, who took care of the fun for the whole day. The attractions included games for children, competitions, artistic performances and an amusement park. Everyone could find something interesting for themselves, regardless of their age.

The KartonCity proved to be an ideal and unique place for family celebration which showed that it was possible to have fun together and care for the environment at the same time.

The Werner Kenkel jubilee picnic not only celebrated the company achievements, but also manifested the values endorsed by the company for years: Modernity, Responsibility, Partnership, Transparency and Sense of Family.
