KartonCity – a unique cardboard city in Leszno
We are pleased to announce that our company is celebrating its 45th anniversary! On this special occasion, we organised an unforgettable birthday party for our employees and their families that took place at the Leszno Airport. This event perfectly reflected our company values of family ties, modernity and responsibility!
Instead of a traditional picnic, we created a “city”: KartonCity (= CardboardCity). It was a carefully planned city full of cardboard elements, such as benches, lamp posts and gates, designed and completed by our team of engineers. KartonCity was comprised of a market square, amphitheatre, community centre and streets decorated with trees. The city was divided into districts of various nature, each of them filled with attractions adapted to various age groups, both children and adults.
One of the key values endorsed by Werner Kenkel is responsibility. We paid special attention to environmental issues, limiting the use of plastic and choosing environmentally-friendly materials. KartonCity adopted selective waste collection, and after the event all waste will be recycled. The “staging” elements made of cardboard will return to our facilities, where they will be processed into waste paper to be reused. After the end of the event, live trees used to decorate the streets will be planted in the Włoszakowice gmina district to create a beautiful alley for the residents. By completing the vision of KartonCity, Werner Kenkel confirms its commitment to environmentally-friendly and modern approach to running business operations.
The event was hosted by well-known presenters, Krzysztof Ibisz and Paulina Sykut-Jeżyna, who took care of excellent atmosphere for the whole day. The attractions prepared for the participants included games for children, competitions, artistic performances and an amusement park. Everyone could find something for themselves, regardless of their age.
Our KartonCity in numbers
We cordially thank everyone who contributed to the completion of this extraordinary event, and our employees and their families for participation and common celebration. We are proud of our 45-year-long history and we are looking forward to the future years of success and innovation.
